Rival Crock Pot Lids
Have you accidentally dropped your beloved rival crock pot? If you’re like me, you probably have – I’ve smashed several rival crock pot lids to tiny little shards! Really though, not to worry as it’s honestly not a very big deal. Replacement lids can be had for under $10 each (most are around $6) and literally take zero time to install (no hinges, no rubber protectors or anything), you just sit them on top!
Old school slow cooker lids were attached to the chamber by a metal or glass hinge and were really difficult to replace, if it was possible at all. Nowadays, the big crock brands (Rival included) have gotten wise to their clumsy consumers and made a simple sit-on-top lid. However, it’s easier to replace, but is also easier to break. It’s a cooking catch 22 I suppose. They’re just not as sturdy as one of those good dining room tables.
Here’s a picture of the standard style I’ve found available for ordering replacement parts online:
This product goes for about $6 (plus shipping). I wish though they had tempered glass or pyrex or something so they could handle a good, counter-level fall.
